Copperband Butterflyfish

Chelmon rostratus

Copperband Butterflyfish (Chelmon rostratus)

Elegant silver body with vertical copper-orange bands and a long, pointed snout used to pick food from crevices. Famous for eating Aiptasia pest anemones, though not every specimen will cooperate. Can be finicky and difficult to feed initially -- look for captive-bred or specimens already eating frozen foods. Not fully reef safe as it may pick at feather dusters, tubeworms, and LPS corals.
